What Can Alexa Do for You?

Wednesday, January 26 - 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Amazon has been a leader in making their products accessible, which in turn, makes life for someone with vision loss easier. Setting reminders and timers, creating shopping lists, asking for recipes, and even turning lights off and on, all can be accomplished with Alexa. Plus, Amazon’s latest generation of Echo products, the Echo show, has a touch screen and video camera which is also made accessible with their Voice View screen reader.

Join us as we welcome back retired Second Sense assistive technology instructor, David Flament, who walks us through many of the Echo features and how he uses this device to accomplish tasks that used to be frustrating and difficult. Bring your questions as we learn all about what Alexa can do for you!

You’ll learn about:

  • accomplishing daily tasks the Echo makes easier
  • identifying pantry and household goods with the Echo Show camera and using the Voice View screen reader
  • uploading contacts and changing privacy settings
