Second Sense - Beyond Vision Loss

What are You Missing in Your Kitchen Tool Kit?

Thursday, June 17 - 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

No one wants to spend time in the kitchen preparing a meal and have the result be an inedible mess. For someone with vision loss, good organization and having the right tool for the job is key. Many essential, accessible and easy to use cooking products prevent injury and help reduce the frustration you may feel when preparing a meal.

Tomasina Perry from LS&S Products visits with us again with the must-have tools you’ll want in your kitchen tool box. Our Second Sense vision rehabilitation therapists, Cody Froeter and Siobhan Midgley, along with Brian Hollandsworth from our Product Center, are also available to provide just the right tip for your most daunting cooking dilemma!

Participants who attend can be entered to win a tactile low vision timer, courtesy of LS&S Products!

You’ll discover:

  • basic tools for the blind or low vision cook
  • talking thermometers and microwaves
  • accessible pressure cookers and air fryers

To join this workshop, call our conference line at 312-809-1004. For questions, email Brian Hollandsworth.
