Shop Smart: Navigating the Grocery Aisles with Vision Loss

Tuesday, November 4 - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Preparing meals at home is not only healthier, but can save you money, too. For someone who is blind or low vision, the problem is that it requires a trip to the grocery store, either in person or online. Grocery shopping can be extremely challenging. Navigating crowded aisles, locating your items, and reading labels and prices are just a few hurdles you need to overcome. Whether you need just one item to complete a recipe or want to do your week’s shopping, we have lots of tips and tricks to help you get through the store in one piece!

Join us in person or via Zoom at Second Sense for Navigating the Grocery Aisles with Vision loss workshop. Cody Froeter shares tons of ways you can have a successful grocery trip. Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • requesting a personal shopper and what to do if you are not able to get live assistance
  • planning transportation, making lists, and using store specific apps
  • using technology devices and smart phone apps

This is a hybrid workshop. To join us remotely or in-person, please RSVP with your choice of attending to email Cody Froeter.
