Keeping Yourself Safe: Verbal Self-Defense

Wednesday, January 29 - 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

There are other ways to confront a threatening situation. Outside of physical moves, verbal self-defense offers different conflict communication skills. These skills help you evaluate the conflict, address your concerns and choose an action that best fits your needs.

We are excited to welcome back Torriente Toliver, Martial Arts expert and instructor with Mind Body Defense, for this important workshop. Torriente has experience working with many different groups and will help us learn how to use language and awareness to keep you safe.

Our conference call in option is available for this workshop. Dial 312-582-2994, conference bridge 301 and pin 1111#.

His informative presentation covers:

  • how to de-escalate conflicts,
  • how to identify what tactics work best for you, and
  • how to avoid common tactics that potential offenders use to get closer to their target.

To register, please call our front desk at 312-236-8569 or email email Polly Abbott.
