Second Sense - Beyond Vision Loss

Get to Know Your Aira Visual Interpreter

Friday, March 21 - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Aira is a visual interpreting service for people with vision loss. Trained professionals who understand the challenges our community face, can help you with a wide variety of visual tasks. These interpreters provide this service securely and confidentially, anywhere, anytime, via their smart phone app. They can help with navigating when traveling, shopping, describing your surroundings and assisting at work or school. While there is a cost to using Aira, there are also many ways you can access the app for free.

Join us for an exciting demonstration to learn how you can use Aira to help with the many visual tasks you face that are not able to be done by other AI apps. Phlip Wilson and Blake Steinecke from Aira will provide a live demonstration with an Aira interpreter. They will answer your questions including:

  • Using the app
  • training of Aira interpreters
  • understanding confidentiality
  • using Aira for school or work
  • accessing the app with the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
  • using both the paid and free service

We will hold this workshop on the Zoom conferencing platform. Registration is required. Please email email Kathy Austin for the Zoom link or call 312-236-8569 for other participation options.
