Estate Planning is for Everyone: Powers of Attorney

Wednesday, June 18 - 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Planning for when you pass away may not be something you want to think about, but it is very important. Having a few documents in order helps your family and loved ones in an especially emotional time. Powers of attorney for both healthcare and finances/property, along with a will, relieves your family from any disagreements about your wishes.

We are happy to welcome Eva Adams, staff attorney at the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL), to share what you need to know about powers of attorney and wills. No matter your net worth or health condition, Eva shares how being prepared for a critical time in your life can put your mind, and the minds of your loved ones, at ease. She will also tell us how you may qualify for help in preparing these documents from CDEL.

This two-part workshop includes: powers of attorney on June 18 and last will and testaments on June 30.

You’ll learn:

  • Why you should have a power of attorney for healthcare.
  • What is the importance of having a power of attorney for property and financial.
  • What to think about when preparing a last will and testament.

These workshops take place on Zoom. To RSVP and to receive the Zoom info, call 312-236-8569 or email Kathy Austin.
