Second Sense - Beyond Vision Loss

Virginia Knepper Doyle

A professional artist for over 45 years, Virginia has exhibited her work in Paris, California, New York and Chicago.

Seven years ago she was diagnosed with macular degeneration and, since then, her sight has deteriorated to the point where she is legally blind.

Her current work focuses on the themes of strength, survival and nature.  She is using common natural materials such as grasses and pine needles to create images of the natural world often focusing on the nest, her metaphor for “home.”

Her work can be found in many corporate and private collections in the United States and abroad.
