Second Sense - Beyond Vision Loss

Katherine Kadish

I am both a painter and printmaker, educated at Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) and at the University of Chicago (MA in Art History). I have exhibited widely since 1973, throughout the US and abroad, in England, China, Korea, and Japan. Solo and group exhibitions in museums include such venues as the Whitney Museum (NYC), the Brevard Art Museum (FL), New York State Museum (Albany), National Museum of American Art – Smithsonian (DC), the Dayton Art Institute (OH), Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (Richmond), Philadelphia Museum of Art and others.

My work has always moved between painting and printmaking. The printmaking process of monotype unites the two territories and has been an important part of my work and ideas for over 30 years. In my painting, prints, and drawings, it is the potency of color and color relationships that most particularly interests me.
