During the 1980’s, when I created my artwork, I retained a tiny island of about 8-10 degrees of fairly sharp central vision. Although such visual restriction posed challenges to some aspects of the process, I believe that advanced tunnel vision enabled me to concentrate longer, with greater intensity, as reflected in my work’s hallmark characteristic “fine detail.”
Throughout my career as an artist, my favorite mediums were acrylic and pen & ink. I loved acrylics because it allowed for a more immediate, detailed, dry brush technique that I frequently used and is so prevalent in my original wildlife art. I have always been passionate about wildlife and the outdoors, thus making a theme choice rather easy. I hope that my work conveys to the viewer my love of animals and nature from my own unique perspective.
