Many of you are users of one of the applications within the Fusion Suite by Freedom Scientific. This includes JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion.

Vispero is the corporate owner of Freedom Scientific. In the past week, Vispero has begun the soft rollout of their 2026 Fusion Suite. This is an annual update, but they are using a “soft” rollout this year. This means not everyone will get the update at the same time.

New Vispero account setup

While the new 2026 update includes a number of AI-based capabilities that may prove to be very helpful, there is an additional requirement to create a Vispero Account. Setting up a Vispero Account is not difficult, however, it does entail answering a series of questions about you and your use of the Vispero products. Before you can set up an account, you must provide Vispero with your birth month and year, as well as an email account where they will send you the Account Setup application.

Be aware that you will be required to use this application to set up a Vispero Account before you can use any of the 2026 Fusion Suite of products (JAWS, Fusion, or ZoomText). You are provided a limited amount of time to set up the account. Creating an account is NOT optional.  If you do not set up the account, the 2026 products will not work.

Privacy policy and data collection

Even before you are allowed to begin the Account Setup process, you must accept the Vispero Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. This is important, and we believe that you should follow the link and read the entire Privacy Policy. Normally, you may bypass the legal fine print and simply accept a Privacy Policy. However, this is one policy that we believe you should read so that you are aware of what you are agreeing to when you use these tools.

Based on our reading of the information in this Privacy Policy, Vispero collects quite a bit of data about you while you are using their products. The Privacy Policy clearly points out that they not only collect this data, they also disclose and sell quite a bit of this information. Their software does not acknowledge “do not track” requests, and apparently only residents of California can opt out.

Once you have created a Vispero Account, you will be asked to log into that account before you access your JAWS, ZoomText or Fusion product.

We want to make sure that you go into this Account Setup and license renewal process fully aware of what you are agreeing to.
