Your Windows PC: Accessibility Out of the Box

Thursday, March 14 - 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

How Accessible is Your Windows PC?

Accessibility on Windows based PC’s can vary from expensive software for purchase to free software you can download to built-in features which can be accessed within the Windows Settings.

In this in-person workshop, Richard Stauder, our assistive technology instructor, focuses on the built-in Windows accessibility features that can help you when you have vision loss. Both visual and audio settings and features will be discussed.

We’ll cover:

  • making your screen, mouse pointer and cursor easier to see
  • using magnifier to zoom in on parts of your display
  • setting high contrast, color filters and distinctive colors schemes to enhance vision
  • using Narrator, the built-in screen reader
  • using keyboard shortcuts

Please note, this is an in-person workshop at Second Sense. To register, email Richard Stauder or call 312-236-8569.
