Coping with diabetes, combined with the complication of vision loss, is difficult and frustrating. Managing sugar levels and adapting to changing vision requires perseverance and new skills to protect your health and vision. Sometimes, feelings of fear or guilt may get in the way of being able to effectively manage your condition.
November is Diabetes Awareness month. Second Sense is offering an opportunity for those of you who have diabetes and are also experiencing vision loss to join us for conversation and support for meeting this challenge. Share your story and listen to others who are experiencing similar circumstances.
Our conversation explores questions like:
- What challenges have you faced managing your diabetes?
- Do you harbor negative feelings because of past behaviors that may have affected your health and vision?
- Are you fearful of changes that may occur in the future?
- What positive changes have you made in your life that helps you cope?
Join us in person or via conference call! Our conference line is 312-582-2994, conference bridge 301 and pin 1111#. For questions, please call our front desk at 312-236-8569 or email email Polly Abbott.
