Yoga for All: A Gentle Practice with Aly

We are excited to offer this gentle yoga practice session with Aly Slaughter, certified yoga teacher! Aly, who is also visually impaired, believes yoga is a tool for healing physically, emotionally and mentally. Through her many hours of training and teaching, she found the practice of yoga can help relieve feelings of anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Aly has an extensive background in the practice of yoga with over 500 hours of teacher training. She has also completed trainings with Accessible Yoga, Mind Body Solutions and Yoga for all. Aly is also a 1Touch Self-Defense certified coach. Aly believes in accessibility and adaptability in all areas of life for all abilities and is hoping to do her small part to form a more inclusive world.

Aly’s 45-minute gentle yoga class is for all abilities. You can listen to the class via our conference call number as she describes the poses and exercises. Here’s what you need to know about this class:

  • exercises take place mostly seated, on backs and on hands and knees
  • props are not necessary but may include pillows; folded blanket or towel; books or blocks; strap or neck tie; chair or wall
  • time is allowed before and after for questions and discussion.
