The Practice of Quieting the Mind

Friday, October 15 - 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We all know how our heads can keep chattering with so many thoughts — about the things we have to do, should do and forgot to do. Sometimes it’s the negative thoughts that make us feel down or upset. Other times it’s the anxiety of a situation or problem that needs to be solved. This chattering in our minds can lead to more anxiety, trouble sleeping and eating right. But, there’s a way you can quiet your mind so you can relax and bring peace into your life.

We are excited to welcome Gloria Petri, who is certified in massage therapy, hypnotherapy, reflexology and Reiki and has many years of practice in the areas of relaxation. In this interactive presentation, Gloria shares with us several techniques to help you learn how to quiet your mind. She will take us through a short practice to demonstrate how to center yourself so you can focus on relaxation and easing those nagging thoughts. These techniques, when practiced, can be used later in many different situations to help you be calm and have a healthier mind.

You’ll learn techniques for:

  • how to breathe and bring immediate relaxation to your body
  • how to let thoughts come and go to help clear your mind
  • how to use these techniques in a variety of situations

After our practice, time will be available for questions. To join us for this informative presentation, call the conference line at 312-809-1004. For questions, email Kathy Austin.
