Resilience in the Time of the Coronavirus

Thursday, September 17 - 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Second Sense

Many of us are feeling a sense of loss: loss of seeing our friends and family, loss of events to look forward to and the loss of a productive daily routine. All of these losses create feelings of isolation, grief and, in some cases, depression. The layers of uncertainty and isolation that our community deals with have been even more pronounced during this time.

To help us sort through the ways we can cope with this new reality, we welcome Melissa Tausig, LCPC, who specializes in providing adjustment counseling for those with life-long and newly acquired vision loss. Having experience with vision loss herself, Melissa feels grateful to walk alongside others on this path.

Melissa will guide us in a conversation about:

  • the power of resilience,
  • ways we can draw on past experiences to adapt,
  • coping strategies for difficult times, and
  • practical guidance for keeping everything in perspective.
