Second Sense Discussion Series: Working Through the Challenges of Vision Loss
Each month we offer a thought provoking topic to help you explore the many issues you face as a person with vision loss. The topics help you delve into the emotional and practical aspects of adjusting to a new way of living. Polly Abbott, Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, leads the discussion and shares ideas and strategies for tackling the challenges you are facing.
Our discussions are generally held on the fourth Monday of each month from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. Some deviation from this schedule is noted below.
To register for any of our discussions, call our front desk or email Polly Abbott.
Upcoming dates and topics:
Brian Hollandsworth, Second Sense’s Product Center coordinator, provides a look at the best products to help you remain independent. He’ll share his special tips to help you adjust to vision loss.
Friends are an important part of anyone’s life, but has vision loss interfered with your ability to keep your old friends or make new ones? Polly Abbott leads the discussion to explore ways you can develop the real friendships that really matter.
Please note: This is a special phone-in discussion on our Second Sense conference bridge. Call in number and access codes will be provided at time of registration.
It is hard, and sometimes overwhelming, to take care of aging parents or children when you feel you are the one who needs the support. Polly Abbott leads a discussion on finding ways to manage feelings and responsibilities so everyone feels cared for.
