Gloved hands tending a plant in a large outdoor pot,Think you can no longer enjoy gardening because of vision loss?

Gardening can bring many rewards — exercise, relaxation and fresh produce. Whether you have a large gardening bed or a few pots on a porch, you can continue to garden safely and reap the benefits of this wonderful hobby.

Get out in the garden and provide habitats for birds and bees and something for others to admire, too!

In this workshop, you will learn about:

  • using color, contrast, texture and fragrance to enhance the gardening experience,
  • growing vegetables in containers, and
  • practicing safety in the garden.

Kathy Austin, former University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener, brings her experience and resources to this informative workshop. For more information, contact Kathy Austin by email or phone at 312-236-8569.
