Second Sense - Beyond Vision Loss

Access Living: Learn About Chicago’s Center for Independent Living

Tuesday, June 20 - 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

What is a center for independent living? A Center for Independent Living (CIL) is a nonprofit community organization operated by people with disabilities. These organizations provide tools and resources so people with disabilities can live independently in their own homes.

Access Living is the Center for Independent Living serving the City of Chicago. They champion the mantra “nothing about us without us” and use it as their guiding principle. As a CIL, they believe in dignity, community integration, civil rights and equal access for all people with disabilities.

We are happy to welcome Tim Pagani from Access Living to share the variety of services they can offer you.

You’ll learn about their core services, including:

  • advocacy
  • transition support
  • peer support
  • information and referral
